Sara Larson is participating in the Sears National Kids Cancer Ride, with 42 riders and volunteers from across Canada.

The Sears National Kids Cancer Ride is one of the biggest and most ambitious charity cycling events on behalf of childhood cancer in the world. Now in it’s 10th year the 2017 event will be an emotional and inspirational adventure beginning in Vancouver on September 6, and complete in Halifax, 18 memorable days later, on September 23, 2017.

Sara has been involved with the Coast to Coast foundation volunteering for the past 2 years.  Sara realized this was much bigger than her and she had to do something to help. So now she is going to ride herself across this great country.

I’ve started my training regiment on the bike a lot sooner, trying to get as many miles in as I can in addition to working with a personal trainer.”, says Larson.  “18 straight days of 160 kilometers+ is going to be quite a challenge.”

“Come September, I’ll put my cycling shoes on, clip them onto the peddles of my bike and ride for 18 days, raising funds and awareness for children with cancer.”, she said.

"Cycling across the country sounds like a big deal and I am prepared to push myself to the utmost to show how much this means to me and for every child out there that’s fighting this disease.", said a determined Larson.

100% of all donations go to support children with cancer and 17 pediatric oncology centers across Canada.

Did you know there are more than 10,000 children in Canada living with cancer and 1,700 new cases every year.  It’s the leading cause of non accidental death of children in Canada.  No child should suffer with this terrible disease and no parent should ever hear the words “your child has cancer”

Sara is looking to raise $15,000 as a National Rider for the event.

My journey began in 2015, when I volunteered as RV support, then again in 2016. I met some of the most incredible people, from cyclists to passionate volunteers. This experience changes you. It grounds you and makes you realize that we need to do things for others by giving back, and making a difference in lives.  The Coast to Coast foundation is like no other event. You meet 30-40 strangers and 18 days later you are a family and have made bonds that last a life time. What we refer to as our SNKCR family (Sears National Kids Cancer Ride).  Read More about Sara
