Thursday Nights At The Bandstand - Celebrates 10th Season

May, 2018, Unionville, Ontario – We’re back for our 10th season!!! Our popular, free summer music series “Thursday Nights at the Bandstand” starts on June 14 at Unionville’s Millennium Bandstand at the corner of Main Street and Fred Varley Drive. Organized by community based Unionville Presents and funded by dedicated community spirited sponsors, the series attracts talented Canadian and International musical artists to the outdoor Millennium Bandstand for all to enjoy free of charge. This year we are pleased to have Autism Ontario – York Region as our valued Awareness Partner. The series runs on 12 consecutive Thursday evenings from June 14 through August 30 from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

This year’s outstanding line-up kicks off on June 14 with first time performers Bon Jovi Forever with 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Bon Jovi legendary tunes!!! How much better can we reel in summer on June 21 with Beach Party Boys and their rendition of the hot, summer tunes of The Beach Boys followed up on June 28 with Summer of 69 and the classics of Bryan Adams. On July 5 Dreamer and their Supertramp Experience will be sure to bring back some fond memories of the progressive pop rock band Supertramp. Band on the Run tribute of Paul McCartney and his over 60 years of Beatles, Wings and McCartney musical memories on July 12 will sure to be another outstanding evening.

The incomparable Elton Rohn with his magnificent performance and outstanding tribute to Elton John’s greatest hits will highlight an evening dedicated to the memory of the life of David Conforti on July 19. The David Conforti – Reach for the Stars Award will be presented to its first recipient. An award presented to an individual with Autism who has made a significant impact in their community through volunteer work. Thursday Nights at the Bandstand was one of David’s favorite events he regularly attending during a short impactful life in which he made a significant difference in all that he achieved in spite of his affliction.

July 26 brings the Soul Brothers with their outstanding tribute to the original Blues Brothers Belushi and Aykroyd for a sure to be fun filled evening. Perennial favorite performing at “my favourite outdoor venue to my favourite audience” on August 2 is Unionville’s adopted Thursday Nights at the Bandstand artist and World Music chart-topper Johannes Linstead performing his brilliant fiery classical repertoire to light up the early August night!!!

It’s All Girl Night on August 9 with Material Girls for a sure to be popular night of tributes to Cher, Madonna and Lady Gaga. The August 16 performance brings back Community Soul Project for a fabulous evening of r&b, soul, and pop as a kick off to the 2018 Markham Jazz Festival. The Solitary Man show hits the stage on August 23 for a sing along night of Neil Diamond’s greatest hits. Fan favorite Night Fever and the multiple dance hits of the Bee Gees are back on August 30 to close out another outstanding season!!!!

Thursday Nights at the Bandstand is organized by community based Unionville Presents, the summer series attracts talented Canadian, International and local performers to the outdoor Unionville Millennium Bandstand stage for all to enjoy free of charge.

This year’s series runs on 12 consecutive Thursday evenings from June 14 through August 30. Performances run non-stop from 7:30 to 9 pm each night.

Our primarily Tribute band live music series has once again been put together with input from our audience. And this year 7 first timers to Thursday Nights will be performing!! We have an outstanding live music line-up for all to enjoy throughout the warm summer ahead of us.
